Client
A complex single-family office with a small team, whose source of wealth was old-world industry (think industrials and auto). The principal still owns 10+ LLCs for operating businesses and custodies assets across 5 to 10 custodians, including large institutions (GS, JPM, MS) and several regional banks. His complexity extends further into real estate, venture capital, and various passion assets.
Problem
The SFO team still wore two hats, supporting both the operating business and the family office, leaving no dedicated staff for accounting, monitoring, or reporting despite significant balance sheet complexity. The only consolidated financial picture produced was a periodic Personal Finance Statement (PFS) when an operating company needed a loan.
Outcome
The client is one of our strongest advocates. We service what would otherwise cost the SFO a full team dedicated to tracking and reporting, plus the empty-shelf software incumbents required to do it. He does not have to hire outside of his OpCos to manage his entire wealth picture.
Why it matters
Family offices all look different. Some are sophisticated with large headcounts; others are still partially embedded in their operating company. Our White Glove Services team, led by ex-family office accountants who have managed and reported on over $1 billion in assets, bridges that gap without ballooning overhead.
