Client
Our client made his money in a sleepy classic industry (think industrials, distribution, auto, and energy). He has an incredibly complex structure: LLC after LLC across various parts of his operating business, numerous operating bank accounts, and assets spread across multiple large custodians (UBS, GS, MS). He loves investing in real estate and restaurants, and his family is multi-generational with children and grandchildren, and growing.
Problem
Our client never bothered setting up a formal family office. All he cared about was cash flow and distributions, in his words, “what actually impacts my life.” But he had one sharp realization: “If I got hit by a bus, my wife and kids would have no idea where everything was.”
Outcome
The client is happy, actively onboarding more assets, and beginning to permission his Abacus to trusted advisors. His most trusted private banker now sees the full balance sheet, including assets held away, making him a more effective advisor. And if a bus ever does hit our guy, his family will know exactly where the keys to the kingdom sit.
Your book, on the same record.
Bring the structure you actually run: the entities, the custodians, and the private positions nobody wants to reconcile. We will walk through what the first month looks like.
